PRINCIPAL: Mrs. Julie Bryant

Dear Jouett Families and Friends,

My name is Julie E. Bryant and I am so excited to be the new Principal at Jouett Elementary School.  I have been a part of the Jouett faculty for twelve years and am blessed and honored to continue to serve the students, families, staff, and community.  I know we are going to continue to lead the way in Louisa County.

I am grateful to have had many wonderful educational experiences that have contributed to my journey and passion for serving the Jouett community.  I acquired my K-12 education in Henrico County in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation I went to Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia where I grew to have a real appreciation for rural life and the joy of living and working in a close-knit community.  While at Shepherd, I played Collegiate Volleyball and received my Elementary Education degree.  I am a Jouett Trailblazer through and through, as all of my educational experience has been at Jouett. I have served as a Special Educator, Language Arts Teacher, Reading Resource Teacher, and most recently as the Assistant Principal.  In 2018, I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. In addition to being passionate about education, I am also a wife and mother. My husband, Danny, and I have been blessed with three wonderful children, Kamden, Kenzie, and Kollins.  I am abundantly grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the experiences I have as a member of the Jouett Family.

I would also like to announce that Ms. Kelley R. Shuler and Dr. Christy F. Grigg will be apart of the Jouett Elementary School Administrative team as Assistant Principals.

We are excited as we come together for the upcoming school year.  Jouett’s leadership and staff are proud to provide innovative instruction that helps to enrich and challenge all of our students.  We truly value relationships and we are excited for us to continue to grow our Jouett Family. We will continue to, “Be Legendary,” this school year and I look forward to working with our students, staff, parents, and community.

Dear Trailblazer Families,

I am thrilled to continue my journey with my Jouett family as the Assistant Principal for the 22-23 school year. I continue to be extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful students, staff, and families of the Jouett community.

My education began with Louisa County Public Schools and I am a proud 2009 graduate of Louisa County High School. After graduating, I attended Christopher Newport University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I worked as a mental health counselor for two years before earning a master’s degree in Special Education from Liberty University.

I was a special educator at the middle school and high school levels for seven years with four of those years being spent at Louisa County High School as an Algebra I teacher and a special education case manager. In May of 2021, I earned an additional master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision.

I am overjoyed to continue working with the talented team at Jouett Elementary School and I am looking forward to continuing to develop relationships with our community. I am committed to helping all Trailblazers succeed and I look forward to learning more about you and your family.

I look forward to working with you all during this legendary school year. Please reach out to me if I can be of any assistance to you or your Trailblazer.

Kelley R. Shuler, M.Ed.

I grew up in Lunenburg County, Virginia, a rural area much like Louisa County. Being a part of TeamLCPS, naturally feels like being home.

I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Longwood University in Farmville, a Master’s in Teaching Degree, and an Education Specialist Degree in School Leadership and Administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg, and my Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University in Minnesota.

Education is an essential aspect of my life, which is why I became an educator. The knowledge in which we obtain is ours for a lifetime, and the more we gain, the more ability we have to change the world. My passion is not only to educate the youth, but to also educate those who initiate and shape our future leaders' minds. I want to inspire and create lifelong learners who will in return do the same.

Prior to becoming a Trailblazer, I served as an assistant principal at Louisa County Middle School. I taught at the elementary level for ten years; as I had the privilege of teaching third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade.

Reagan and Morgan are my two daughters who make life fun and joyous. We enjoy painting nails, playing dress up, reading books, completing puzzles, and making Tik Tok videos. In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends.

I am here to serve our Jouett students, families, teachers, and staff as we continue to Be Legendary.
