Ms. Spaid

Dear Trailblazer Families,

It is with great pride and devotion that I write this letter to you during my third year as principal of Jouett Elementary School. I am humbled and honored to be offered the opportunity to continue serving the LEGENDARY children, parents, faculty, and staff of Jouett Elementary.

I acquired the majority of my K-12 education in Fluvanna County. I know, a Fluco in Louisa County seems crazy but I absolutely LOVE Louisa County! I graduated from Fluvanna County High School in 1996 and attended Radford University where I earned two bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and English.

I was a classroom teacher for twelve years and I truly cherished my time as a second, third, and fourth grade teacher. In 2012, I earned a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision.

I am extremely passionate and excited about continuing the wonderful work that is already in progress at Jouett Elementary School. My vision as an instructional leader is to continue exposing our students to rigorous curriculum while nurturing each student’s character development. My role as your principal is to serve the Jouett community while ensuring that our students have a safe, challenging, and caring place to learn and grow.

I am committed to serving Jouett’s students, parents, and our LEGENDARY staff through open communication and a commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and excellence. I feel extremely blessed to be working at such a wonderful school nestled within such the supportive and loyal Louisa community.

I look forward to working with you all and serving as the leader of this LEGENDARY school. Thank you for your continued support!

Dear Jouett Families and Friends,JulieBryant

My name is Julie Bryant and I am so excited to be the Assistant Principal at Jouett Elementary School.  I have been a part of the Jouett faculty for many years and am blessed and honored to continue to serve the students, families, staff, and community.  I know we are going to continue to lead the way in Louisa County.

I am grateful to have had many wonderful educational experiences that have contributed to my journey and passion for serving the Jouett community.  I acquired my K-12 education in Henrico County in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation I went to Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia where I grew to have a real appreciation for rural life and the joy of living and working in a close-knit community.  While at Shepherd, I played Collegiate Volleyball and received my Elementary Education degree.  I am a Jouett Trailblazer through and through, as all of my educational experience has been at Jouett. I have served as a Special Educator, Language Arts Teacher, and most recently as a Reading Resource Teacher.  In 2018, I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. In addition to being passionate about education, I am also a wife and mother. My husband, Danny, and I have been blessed with three wonderful children, Kamden, Kenzie, and Kollins.  I am abundantly grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the experiences I have as a member of the Jouett Family.

I am excited as we come together for the new school year.  Jouett’s leadership and staff are proud to provide innovative instruction that helps to enrich and challenge all of our students.  While academics are important for us, children and family social emotional wellbeing during this difficult time are of great importance to us. We truly value relationships and I am excited for us to continue to grow our Jouett Family. We will continue to, “Be Legendary,” this school year and I look forward to working with our students, staff, parents, and community.

Dear Trailblazer Parents and Guardians,

I am ecstatic to join the Jouett Trailblazer family as the Assistant Principal Intern. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful students, staff, and families of the Jouett Elementary community.

My education began at Louisa County Public Schools and I am a proud 2009 graduate of Louisa County High School. After graduating, I attended Christopher Newport University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I worked as a mental health counselor for two years before earning a master’s degree in Special Education from Liberty University.

I was a special education teacher at the middle school and high school levels for seven years with four of those years being spent at Louisa County High School as an Algebra I teacher and a special education case manager. In May of 2021, I earned an additional master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision.

I am overjoyed to work with the talented team at Jouett Elementary School and I am looking forward to learning alongside the students and staff. I am committed to helping your Trailblazer succeed and I look forward to learning more about you and your family.

I look forward to working with you all during this legendary school year. Please reach out to me if I can be of any assistance to you or your Trailblazer.
