Greetings, Trailblazer Families,
I am excited to welcome you all to Jouett Elementary. I have the great honor of serving as the Principal of Jouett Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year, and I am so excited for the journey ahead!
A little bit about me: I am a proud 2009 graduate of Louisa County High School, and I have had the privilege of serving my hometown school division in several different capacities over the years. I began my journey as an educator by serving as a Math and Special Education teacher at Louisa County High School for four years. I then transitioned into school administration and served Jouett Elementary as the Administrative Intern and Assistant Principal for four years. I spent this past school year at Moss-Nuckols Elementary as the Assistant Principal. The 26-27 school year will begin my 13th year in education, and I am grateful to be returning to my Trailblazer family to serve as the Principal!
Jouett is a special place. It has always felt like home, and I take great pride in being a part of the Trailblazer Family. My primary goal as your principal is to build upon our strong foundation of excellence and collaboration. I am fully committed to supporting our dedicated staff, our incredible students, and you—our families. Together, we will ensure that every child who walks through our doors feels safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.
As your principal, I greatly value building strong relationships and partnerships with all of our JES parents and guardians. This partnership is vital to our students’ success. I look forward to working closely with you, listening to your ideas, and celebrating our achievements together. Please know that my door is always open, and I look forward to collaborating with you all in my new role.

Dear Trailblazer Community,
I am absolutely thrilled to continue serving the Jouett family as your assistant principal for the 2026-27 school year! I grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia, and moved to Richmond in 2002. My own educational journey spans 23 years across Virginia, serving in Prince Edward, Henrico, and Hanover Counties before proudly finding my home here in Louisa. Throughout this time, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from preschool through high school (Biology, Ecology, and Anatomy), with the majority of my career dedicated to championing students with exceptionalities.
I firmly believe that every student possesses unique gifts that make Jouett and the Louisa community an extraordinary place to grow. As Trailblazers, our students are meant to chart new paths. I am incredibly passionate about cultivating an environment where they feel empowered to take risks, build resilience, and "fail forward" on their own paths to success.
My personal academic journey reflects this deep commitment to lifelong learning. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002, a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University in 2008, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech in 2023. Additionally, I am deeply proud to be a National Board Certified Teacher as an Exceptional Needs Specialist, and I am currently pursuing advanced studies through a Doctorate in Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech.
When I am not at school, my favorite journey is the one I share with my husband and two children. We are a dedicated football family. In the fall, you will always find us soaking in those crisp autumn Saturdays and cheering for my son and the Eagles on the football field at Bridgewater College! Plus, we are always up for watching a great cooking competition.
I look forward to partnering with each of you to support every student who walks through our doors. Please never hesitate to reach out with questions. I have never been more excited to begin a new school year alongside such a supportive team of educators and welcoming community.

Dear Jouett Families and Community,
I am absolutely thrilled to step into my new role as the Administrative Intern at Jouett Elementary School for the upcoming school year. Having been a proud member of the Jouett faculty for the past ten years—most recently as your Reading Specialist—I feel deeply blessed and honored to continue serving our incredible students, families, staff, and community in this leadership capacity. I know that together, we will continue blazing a trail of excellence!
My journey in education has been shaped by a lifelong love for learning and community. While I completed my K-12 education in Charlottesville, my heart for close-knit, rural communities began during my early childhood years in Clarksville, Virginia, along Buggs Island Lake. I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in English and PK-5 teaching license from Mary Baldwin College. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving as a preschool educator, first-grade teacher, third-grade language arts teacher, and Reading Specialist. Committed to growing as an educator, I earned my Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist from Longwood College in 2021, followed by my certification in Educational Leadership and Administration from James Madison University in 2025. Outside of school, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Daniel, is a Louisa native, and we are blessed with three wonderful children—DJ, Dylan, and Delaney—who are all proud graduates or current Louisa Lions.
I cannot express enough how deeply I believe in the vital work we do together as parents, educators, and community members. True education is a partnership, and it takes all of us working hand-in-hand to ensure our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our children are our most valuable assets, and I am entirely committed to making sure Jouett remains a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where they can discover their full potential. Thank you for welcoming me into this new chapter; I am incredibly grateful to serve the Jouett Family and TeamLCPS, and I look forward to an amazing school year ahead!
