Dear Jouett Families and Friends,

My name is Julie E. Bryant and I am the Principal at Jouett Elementary School.  I have been a part of the Jouett faculty for fourteen years and am blessed and honored to continue to serve the students, families, staff, and community.  I know we are going to continue to lead the way in Louisa County.

I am grateful to have had many wonderful educational experiences that have contributed to my journey and passion for serving the Jouett community.  I acquired my K-12 education in Henrico County in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation, I went to Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia where I grew to have a real appreciation for rural life and the joy of living and working in a close-knit community.  While at Shepherd, I played Collegiate Volleyball and received my Elementary Education degree.  I am a Jouett Trailblazer through and through, as all of my educational experience has been at Jouett. I have served as a Special Educator, Language Arts Teacher, Reading Resource Teacher, and as the Assistant Principal.  In 2018, I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. In addition to being passionate about education, I am also a wife and mother. My husband, Danny, and I have been blessed with three wonderful children, Kamden, Kenzie, and Kollins.  I am abundantly grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the experiences I have as a member of the Jouett Family.

We are excited as we come together for the upcoming school year.  Jouett’s leadership and staff are proud to provide interactive instruction that helps to enrich and challenge all of our students.  We truly value relationships and we are excited for us to continue to grow our Jouett Family. We will continue to, “Be Legendary,” this school year and I look forward to working with our students, staff, parents, and community.

Sincerely,

Julie E. Bryant, M. Ed.

Dear Trailblazer Families,

I am thrilled to continue my journey with my Jouett family as the Assistant Principal for the 24-25 school year. I continue to be extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful students, staff, and families of the Jouett community.

My education began with Louisa County Public Schools and I am a proud 2009 graduate of Louisa County High School. After graduating, I attended Christopher Newport University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I worked as a mental health counselor for two years before earning a master’s degree in Special Education from Liberty University.

I was a special educator at the middle school and high school levels for seven years with four of those years being spent at Louisa County High School as an Algebra I teacher and a special education case manager. In May of 2021, I earned an additional master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision.

I am overjoyed to continue working with the talented team at Jouett Elementary School and I am looking forward to continuing to develop relationships with our community. I am committed to helping all Trailblazers succeed and I look forward to learning more about you and your family.

I look forward to working with you all during this legendary school year. Please reach out to me if I can be of any assistance to you or your Trailblazer.

Sincerely,

Kelley R. Shuler, M.Ed.

Greetings Jouett Families and Friends,

I am incredibly excited to continue being a part of the Jouett family as the Administrative Intern! I have served as a teacher in elementary education for the past 18 years, and recently finished my first year as a Jouett Trailblazer. I began my teaching career with Onslow County Public Schools, located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. After completing my first year, I moved to Richmond, Virginia, where I began a 12-year career working for Goochland County Public Schools. I then went on to work for Henrico County Public Schools.

I began my educational studies at Daemen College in Buffalo, New York, where I graduated with dual majors in Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education K-12. I went on to attain my Master’s degree from Averett University, studying Curriculum Development. Lastly, I completed my Post-Master’s studies in Educational Leadership & Administration from George Washington University.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My daughter, Nova and I love cooking together and trying new recipes. As a family, we also love to take road trips in search of new adventures.

I am looking forward to another successful school year by learning and growing together with the amazing Trailblazer students, staff, families, and community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of any assistance.

Sincerely,

Zarina S. Nicholas, M.Ed.
