Good afternoon Trailblazer families,

This is Mrs. Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this last week of our 2025-2026 school year here at Jouett Elementary School.

I cannot believe that we are in our final week of the 2025-2026 school year. This year has been a year of immense growth, achievement, and fun for our students and staff, and we cannot wait to celebrate those successes and accomplishments this week.

We want to make sure everyone is aware of the end-of-year plans for the last week of school.

Monday, May 18th - Fifth Grade Graduation (9:30), Kindergarten Promotion (12:00), Grade 4 Classroom Awards
For both the 5th-grade graduation and Kindergarten Promotion, we do ask that families arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start time of these events. It is important that we get students into the building in the morning before we are able to receive guests for graduation.

Tuesday, May 19th - Pre-School through Third-Grade Classroom Awards
For these awards, we do ask that families park in the bus loop. We will be setting up for our annual Spring Fling throughout the day, so staying in the bus loop as much as possible will allow us to set up for Spring Fling the next day.
If you have any questions about award times, please contact your child’s teacher or the front office, and we would be happy to assist.

Wednesday, May 20th - Spring Fling - Yearbook Distribution
We do ask that you send your child with a water bottle, towel, and a change of clothes. Please consider applying sunscreen before your child leaves home, as it is looking to be a hot and sunny day.
We will also be holding our annual fundraising efforts for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to raise money to help fight childhood cancer. These fundraisers will take place at Spring Fling. We cannot wait to see if we are able to surpass our goal from last year!

Thursday, May 21st - Last Day of School Celebration with an 11:00 AM bus dismissal.
Parent Pick Up will start dismissing students at 10:45. Please remember that a guardian or approved family member must be at bus stops to receive students in second grade and younger.

Clinic Reminder
Our legendary nurse, Mrs. Adams, wanted to share some information about end-of-year medication pick-up procedures. Student medications need to be picked up before the last day of school by a parent and/or guardian. Medications cannot be stored over the summer or sent home with children. Please contact Nurse Adams by calling the school and selecting option 1 to arrange for medication pick up.

PreSchool and Kindergarten Applications
We are delighted to announce that LCPS is still accepting preschool and kindergarten applications for the 2026-2027 school year. If your child is four years old by September 30, 2026, he or she may be eligible to enroll in our PK program. If your child is five years old by September 30, 2026, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Registrations for both are available on any LCPS website!

School Supplies Information

Greetings JES Families! Today, we are excited to share with you our school supplies lists for the 2025-2026 school year. We hope these lists will be helpful to you as you prepare for the exciting, upcoming year at JES!

And just like last year, we also want to provide you with a few reminders that will help guide you as you make purchases in the near future. These reminders will help students avoid items that do not correlate with our school's weapons detectors.

- All three-ring binders should be 1.5 inches or less.
- When possible, please use plastic water bottles. If you do purchase metal water bottles, please opt for small/medium-sized bottles.
- Please avoid purchasing wheeled, rolling backpacks if possible.
- Please do not purchase adult-sized scissors. Instead, opt for blunt, small/medium-sized scissors.
