This is Mrs.Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School. We hope that everyone is rested and ready to finish this school year strong!

This week, we will kick off another round of attendance extended learning. Academic extended learning concluded prior to spring break.

This week at JES, we will be celebrating Autism Awareness all week. We are proud to celebrate our neurodivergent learners, and each day we will be celebrating. Check out the themed days below:

Monday - Wear your Favorite Team’s Jersey - Team up for Autism

Tuesday - Show off your flair with a fun accessory - Be an Individual

Wednesday - Wear Comfy Clothes - Be comfortable in your own skin

Thursday - Wear Tie Dye - We Blend together

Friday - Wear something blue - Go Blue for autism

The Jouett Elementary School PTA has several exciting events and opportunities coming up!

This Friday, April 17th JES PTA will be hosting the Second Movie Night of the Year! — JES PTA is excited to present Zootopia 2 for our spring movie night. Bring the family and enjoy a fun evening together! The PTA will be selling pizza at Movie Night! To make sure you have dinner covered, pre-order is encouraged. Pre-Order is available on the JES PTA website, only a limited number of pizzas will be available to purchase on the day of the event.

JES PTA is seeking volunteers for Spring Fling 2026, visit their website to sign-up today to secure your spot for this year-end tradition!

PreSchool and Kindergarten Applications

We are delighted to announce that LCPS is accepting preschool and kindergarten applications for the 2026-2027 school year. If your child is four years old by September 30, 2026, he or she may be eligible to enroll in our PK program. If your child is five years old by September 30, 2026, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Registrations for both are available on any LCPS website!

This week, on Wednesday, April 15th, we will be hosting Kindergarten screening night from 4:00 to 6:30. Even if you have already registered your kindergartener online, we would love to have you in so that we can screen your newest Trailblazer. Each registering kindergartener will get some free JES swag to welcome them to the Home of the Trailblazers! We hope to see you there!

Looking Ahead

April 20th from 5:00 -7:00, we will be having a fun Are You Smarter Than Your Fourth or Fifth Grader Night at JES. Our Director of Elementary Education will be down to help put on this legendary competition between students, parents, guardians, and families. The RSVP form will come home with our fourth and fifth-grade families with more information tomorrow. Please make sure to return them, as we will be providing dinner to those who attend!
April 21st is now a Community Service Day for students due to voting taking place at several LCPS schools. Our April 21st community service opportunity is just a couple of weeks away, and we have a fantastic opportunity for our students to give back to Louisa County while being creative and kind. On April 21st, our Trailblazers will have the opportunity to create a kindness rock as well as to practice the 5Cs - collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, and citizenship. Trailblazers will decorate a rock to place somewhere in Louisa to spread kindness and joy! A permission slip will come home on Monday, April 13th, with a sheet to help you plan and draft your own LCPS Kindness Rock. If you cannot join us in person on April 21st, don’t worry! We can still give your Kindness Rock drawing to a community member in Louisa County. All Kindness ROCKS RSVP should be completed no later than Friday, April 17th. We will be hosting this event at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School from 12 PM to 2 PM. We can’t wait to see you all there!
April 25th is the TeamLCPS Job Fair. Check out any LCPS website for more information on how to join our legendary team! Now is your chance to join the best team in the world: #TeamLCPS! We’ll be hosting our 2026 LCPS Job Fair on Saturday, April 25th, and we’d love to meet you! We’re looking for teachers, bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, and more! This week is Spring Break for TeamLCPS. Our office will be open Wednesday through Friday.

Good afternoon Trailblazer families,

This is Mrs.Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School.

We are excited to head into the final week before Spring Break. This week is also the TeamLCPS Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you all JES teachers and staff for all you do to support our Trailblazers!

Extended Learning wraps up this week and will be held on Monday through Wednesday until 4:45. Thank you to all of our Trailblazers who participated. We look forward to hosting one final round of attendance extended learning after spring break.

This Thursday, April 2nd, is All-County Chorus Night at LCHS. We cannot wait to see our fourth and fifth-grade chorus students participate. Don’t forget to wear your blue kindness shirt. This year’s kindness shirt says “Be good, Do good” on the back.

We are partnering with Strawbridge for our 2025-2026 yearbook sales. Yearbooks can be purchased online at www.strawbridge.net with the code YB34784, or we will accept cash or checks at the school level. Yearbooks cost $20.00, and sales will end at the end of this month. Yearbook sales will end on March 31st.

Good afternoon Trailblazer families,

This is Mrs.Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School.

Report Cards came home on Friday, March 20th. Please return the report card envelopes to school tomorrow, and please let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions.

Students will participate in a bus evacuation drill and a fire drill this week.

Extended Learning continues this week on Monday through Wednesday until 4:45.

This Tuesday, March 24th, our fifth graders will be participating in the VA SOL Integrated Reading and Writing assessment. We do ask that our fifth graders get a good night's sleep and come dressed comfortably for school that day. We know our fifth-grade Trailblazers are going to do great!

Title I Movie Night

It’s finally here! The Title I Family Movie Night is this week!

Please join us to watch Stuart Little with your family! The annual event includes a snack and family fun and will be held at the Goochland Drive-In on Tuesday, March 24th, and Wednesday, March 25th. Just like last year, families will be given vouchers for snacks at the Goochland Snack Shack! Please arrive early to avoid concession lines. The doors will open at 5:30 PM each evening.

Saturday, March 28 will be our LCPS Fine Arts Festival - Check out the attached flier. Additionally, we will be completing a spirit week leading up to this event. Handouts came home last week, but check out what we have in the School Messenger e-mail.

School Supplies Information

Greetings JES Families! Today, we are excited to share with you our school supplies lists for the 2025-2026 school year. We hope these lists will be helpful to you as you prepare for the exciting, upcoming year at JES!

And just like last year, we also want to provide you with a few reminders that will help guide you as you make purchases in the near future. These reminders will help students avoid items that do not correlate with our school's weapons detectors.

- All three-ring binders should be 1.5 inches or less.
- When possible, please use plastic water bottles. If you do purchase metal water bottles, please opt for small/medium-sized bottles.
- Please avoid purchasing wheeled, rolling backpacks if possible.
- Please do not purchase adult-sized scissors. Instead, opt for blunt, small/medium-sized scissors.
