Weekly Announcements: August 16

Good Afternoon!

We had a great few days with our students last week, and we are so happy to have them all back!

I wanted to share a few reminders for our upcoming week. Students will participate in our first fire drill of the school year this week. We have been going over safety procedures with students, and they are ready to complete our first drill together.

I would also like to share a few reminders from our school nurse. We are continuing to gather information about student allergies, so we will continue to ask that no outside food be brought in for sharing with groups of students until after August 31, 2026. Individual packed lunches and snacks are okay as long as they are not shared amongst other students. Please also be reminded that all medication must be brought in by an adult to the school nurse.

Finally, our Legendary PTA would also like to remind you that the beginning of the school year is a great time to consider joining the PTA. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Hello, this is Ms. Shuler, principal at Jouett Elementary. We are so excited to welcome our students and families to the 2026-2027 school year!

First, thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open House; it was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces.

We are so excited to have our students return to school on Wednesday, August 12th. As we prepare for the first day, we wanted to share a few important reminders regarding our daily schedule and transportation:

School hours are from 8:10 AM to 3:10 PM.
Morning parent drop-off begins at 7:50 AM.
Parents choosing to utilize Parent Pick-up in the afternoon should not arrive for the pickup line before 2:55 pm. Express students are not released to our staging location until 3:03 pm. Arriving too early can cause backups and extend our dismissal process.
Families utilizing parent drop-off and pick-up should enter at the tennis courts. See the picture below for more details.
For those riding the bus, please be at your stop 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup and drop-off times.
For our Pre-K through second grade families, please remember that an adult must be present at the bus stop for afternoon drop-off.

We appreciate your patience in the first few days as we work through establishing routines for the new school year with transportation.

I would also like to share a few reminders from our school nurse. Please remember that all medications must be dropped off directly to our school nurse by an adult. Also, to ensure we have time to gather all information about allergies, we kindly ask that no outside food be brought in for sharing with groups of students until after August 31, 2026. Individual packed lunches and snacks are okay as long as they are not shared amongst other students.

We would also like to remind you that it is important to ensure that all online registration and enrollment documents are turned in to the office before the first day of school so your child is all set to go!

School Supplies Information

Greetings JES Families! Today, we are excited to share with you our school supplies lists for the 2026-2027 school year. We hope these lists will be helpful to you as you prepare for the exciting, upcoming year at JES!

And just like last year, we also want to provide you with a few reminders that will help guide you as you make purchases in the near future. These reminders will help students avoid items that do not correlate with our school's weapons detectors.

- All three-ring binders should be 1.5 inches or less.
- When possible, please use plastic water bottles. If you do purchase metal water bottles, please opt for small/medium-sized bottles.
- Please avoid purchasing wheeled, rolling backpacks if possible.
- Please do not purchase adult-sized scissors. Instead, opt for blunt, small/medium-sized scissors.
