Good Afternoon Jouett Families,
This is Julie Bryant, your principal, calling with some updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School.
There will be no school tomorrow, Monday, September 2nd. Students will return to school on Tuesday, September 3rd. We hope everyone has a safe holiday.
We will start next week with Resource Day 3 and we will also be sending home the September Resource calendar.
This Friday is National Food Bank Day. In recognition of this day let's bring in canned food this Tuesday through Friday to stock our own local resources. Our goal will be to collect 500 canned or boxed goods to give back to the community. A super special surprise treat will be waiting for our Trailblazers as we look to give back and spread kindness.
I also have a note from our attendance secretary: please make sure to send in notes when your child is sick. This allows our records to accurately reflect if your child was sick or had an appointment. Remember, attendance is so important to your kids continuing to grow and progress in their academic experience.
Get ready to celebrate! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 18th, from 9 AM to 10 AM! We're gearing up to honor the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, and we've planned something special.
Join us as we dive into the fascinating world of local government and discover why it's so important! Check out the LCPS Constitution Day family letter that is being sent home this week for all the details, or call us if you have any questions.
Got childcare on your mind? No worries! We have you covered with all-day childcare from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM at every school. Now, your little ones can enjoy all the fun while you take care of business!
If you have any additional questions, please call the front office at 540-872-3931.
I hope everyone has a super Sunday and we look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Tuesday.
Mrs. Bryant
