Good afternoon Trailblazer families,

This is Julie Bryant, your principal, calling to share some updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School.

Extended Learning will continue this week, Monday through Wednesday, from 3:15 to 4:45.  Forms for a second session will be forthcoming.

This week, our third through fifth graders will be participating in state Growth assessments.  Please see the schedule as below, and please make sure that your Trailblazer reports to school on time and does not leave early on these days.

On Tuesday, October 28th, Louisa County High School will be hosting its Trunk or Treat at the Jungle.  We hope to see you there!

This Thursday, we invite our students to dress in their house colors as we get ready to conclude our October points competitions.  Sollevare and Onraka have won the first two months of school - which house will it be next?

And speaking of dressing up, we invite you to send your Trailblazer dressed as their favorite book character on Friday, October 31st.  I would like to ask that students refrain from wearing masks or accessories that will interfere with learning.  Additionally, all costumes should follow the school dress code.

We would like to share a huge THANK YOU to our JES PTA for all of the legendary events they put on throughout the month of October.  They have truly made this month one of joyous Fall memories.  Thank you, PTA, and all those who volunteered for these legendary events!

We’ve also appreciated your continued efforts and support of our monthlong initiative “Kindness: A Decade of Difference!”

For this upcoming week, we are continuing our focus on Kindness for a Cause! Here at Jouett Elementary School, we will be raising money for the Louisa County Rescue Squad through our classroom coin wars.  These coin wars will wrap up on Wednesday, so please continue to send in your coins!

Finally, I just wanted to share a reminder that students will not have school next week on Monday, November 3rd or Tuesday, November 4th.  School will resume on Wednesday, November 5th.

If you have any additional questions, please call the front office at 540-872-3931.

I hope you enjoy your Sunday and we are excited to welcome our Trailblazers back to school tomorrow

Julie Bryant, M. Ed.

Proud Principal of the Trailblazers
