Good Afternoon Jouett Families,

This is Julie Bryant, your principal, calling with some updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School.

Attendance Extended Learning will conclude this week.  We appreciate everyone's time and effort in utilizing this time to make sure our Trailblazers are set for success.

Your child will participate in a fire safety drill this week.

We are so proud of our Trailblazers as they worked the past few weeks to complete their Spring SOL tests.   This week we will have Grades 3 and 4 retesting Math and Grade 5 retesting Science.  You all are doing incredibly well and we are so proud of all that you are showing you have learned this school year!

Also, we just wanted to share some end-of-year dates you may want to include on your calendar:

Friday, May 17th - Preschool, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade awards
Monday, May 20th - Spring Fling will be taking place in three different shifts
Tuesday, May 21st - Third Grade, Fourth Grade, and Fifth Grade awards
Thursday, May 23rd - Last Day of School with an 11:00AM dismissal

Grade levels have been sending home information about the logistics of their awards.  All visitors coming into the building to attend awards will be going through our weapons detectors.  You may want to consider leaving bags and any large electronics at home. If you have any clarifying questions please feel free to reach out to our office.

PTA’s End of the Year Dance was a huge success!  Our Trailblazers who attended had a blast and we want to thank the parent and school volunteers for helping bring this event to life!

JES PTA is looking for volunteers for Spring Fling, if interested, visit their website to sign-up.

Also, we are still accepting Kindergarten registration forms online.  As those online forms are submitted we will continue to reach out to schedule a time for documents to be brought in and for incoming kindergarteners to be screened.  We can’t wait to welcome our newest group of Trailblazers.

We also wanted to take a moment to congratulate the Louisa County High School Class of 2024.  We are so proud of your accomplishments and know that you all will continue to change the world and Louisa County!

If you have any additional questions, please call the front office at 540-872-3931.

We hope everyone has a super Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day and we will see our Trailblazers tomorrow!
