Good Afternoon Jouett Families,
This is Mrs. Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary.
We would like to share a friendly attendance reminder. If your child is sick or going to miss school, please feel free to call our Records Secretary, Dani Layne, or email [email protected] directly with notes and/or notifications about student absences. We deeply appreciate the partnership between our school and our families.
Your Trailblazer will be participating in a tornado drill this week.
Also, on Wednesday, March 12th, our third through fifth grade Trailblazers will be participating in a SOL Math Simulation assessment. Please make sure to have your student to school on time so they can do their best to show all that they have learned so far this school year.
In addition for our third through fifth grade Trailblazers, Family Life Education forms were sent home at the end of last week. These forms explain what VDOE health standards are addressed during Family Life Education. If you have any questions about this please feel free to call our front office and we will be happy to assist you.
The month of April has several volunteer opportunities with JES PTA. The Spring Book Fair is scheduled for April 3rd - April 10th, (morning and afternoon shifts) and LCPR will hold their Spring Dance on Friday, April 4th. JES PTA is asking for volunteers for both events, more info and sign-up links can be found on their website or Facebook page.

I would also like to share some reminders for upcoming events that will be taking place at JES and in Louisa County Public Schools.
Tuesday, March 11th, is our LCPS 24 Tournament - good luck to our Trailblazers who are participating
Monday, March 17th, is now a school day for our LCPS staff and students.
Wednesday, March 19th, is picture day at JES. We will be taking individual spring portraits on this day. Fliers are coming home this week with purchase options.
Friday, March 21st, is the end of the third marking period. Report cards will come home the following Friday, March 28th.
Saturday, March 29th, will be our LCPS Arts Festival, hosted from 10AM to 2PM at Louisa County High School.
Additionally, the Title I & Title III Family Movie Night is coming soon! Please join us for this free event on Tuesday, April 8th, or Wednesday, April 9th, to watch The Wild Robot with your family! The annual event includes a snack and family fun and will be held at the Goochland Drive-In. In past years, we served pizza, but this year, we wanted to go all in on our drive-in theme with a $5 voucher for snacks at the Goochland Snack Shack! Please arrive early to avoid concession lines and gates will open at 5:30 PM each evening. We can’t wait to see you there!
