Good Afternoon Jouett Families,
This is Julie Bryant, your principal, calling with some updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School.
Another Legendary week at JES is in the books! Your Trailblazers completed Fall Growth assessments and their first round of Reading and Math assessments. We are so proud of their efforts and cannot wait to continue to collaborate with you all to watch them grow this school year. Our students have also been getting a refresher on our JES Houses on the morning announcements and our fifth graders are getting ready to start auditions for the Trailblazin’ News. Exciting times continue at JES!
This week all of our students will participate in a fire drill as well as a bus evacuation drill.
Additionally, we will have a three-day weekend coming up this weekend. There will be no school on Monday, September 2nd. Students will return to school on Tuesday, September 3rd.
I also want to thank our transportation team as they continue to get into the normal routine for arrival and dismissal. Our school buses have been leaving Jouett between 3:15 to 3:18 each day. Please remember that it is recommended that 5-8 minutes prior to arrival and drop-off times is the recommended time for bus riders' families to be at the designated stops.
Finally, I have some legendary news for you! Each year, our students have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and dive into local service projects on asynchronous learning days. And guess what? Our first big event to celebrate Constitution Day is almost here!
Are you worried about childcare? We've got you covered! Parks and Recreation offers childcare from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM at every school so your child can join in the fun even if you have to work!
Keep an eye out for a family letter coming home this week with all the details about this fantastic opportunity. We can't wait to see everyone get involved!
