Good afternoon Trailblazer families,
This is Mrs. Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary School. We hope that everyone is rested and ready to finish this school year strong!
Your Trailblazer will be participating in a fire drill this week.
This week, we will continue attendance extended learning on Monday through Wednesday.
Our third through fifth grade Trailblazers are going to have a big week showing all that they know on their Reading Standards of Learning assessments. The schedule for these tests is as follows:
Monday, April 27th - SOL Parade at School
Tuesday, April 28th - Grade 4 Reading
Wednesday, April 29th - Grade 5 Reading
Thursday, April 30th - Grade 3 Reading
Families, if you see a conflict with one of these dates, please let the Front Office know as soon as possible. It is important that students come to school on time, do not leave early, and have had a good night's rest so they feel prepared. We know your students and our staff have worked hard for students to be able to show all that they know, and we are so proud of everyone! Let’s go, Trailblazers!
Spring Pictures should be returned to school if families are not purchasing the pictures within the package. We appreciate your attention to returning these!
Spring Flash Food Drive
This week, Monday through Wednesday, JES will be hosting a Spring Flash Food Drive. Many local churches and organizations like the Louisa Resource Council are revving up for Summer time and are able to support families. Trailblazers, let's help stock their shelves so they can continue to support our provide food for our Louisa community. Donations of canned food will be accepted this week, Monday through Wednesday, and will be delivered on Thursday. Thanks for your consideration as we support our community and spread kindness!

PreSchool and Kindergarten Applications
We are delighted to announce that LCPS is accepting preschool and kindergarten applications for the 2026-2027 school year. If your child is four years old by September 30, 2026, he or she may be eligible to enroll in our PK program. If your child is five years old by September 30, 2026, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Registrations for both are available on any LCPS website!
