Good Afternoon Jouett Families,
This is Mrs. Bryant, your principal, calling to give you updates and reminders for this week at Jouett Elementary.
This Monday is the 100th day of school! We are so grateful for the 100 days we have had with our Trailblazers and cannot wait for everything else that we have in store for our school year.
Also, this Monday kicks off our Semester 2 Academic Extended Learning and our JES Attendance Academy. If you have returned a permission form your child may have Extended Learning Monday and/or Tuesday. Extended Learning runs until 4:45. Please feel free to call our front office if you have any questions pertaining to this opportunity.
This week we will have an Earthquake drill.
Interims will come home this Friday. Please make sure to contact your child’s teacher with any concerns. Additionally, if your child is in third through fifth grade and you would like another copy of the directions to access PowerSchool to be able to check your child’s grades please feel free to call our Front Office and Mrs. Layne can help you with this process.
Calling all 4th and 5th graders! Our Steam Cup Challenge will be held at Louisa County High School on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 5 PM - 7 PM! Are you a team player interested in competing in our Steam Cup Challenge? If so, please see Ms. Leiffer or Mr Snider for an application! Applications are due no later than this Friday!
Also, good luck to our 4th and 5th graders that are participating in our JES 24 Math Tournament on Wednesday. The top winners will advance to the LCPS District competition in a few weeks.
Starting this week through February 14th, JES will be participating in the Kids Heart Challenge. Mrs. Verbos shared flyers last week on how your child can participate. Please let Mrs. Verbos know if you have any additional questions!
JES PTA Valentine Ring-Pop Grams are now on sale! Each Valentine Gram costs $1 and can be purchased on the JES PTA website. Sales end Sunday, February 9th, grams will be delivered to classrooms in Friday, February 14th
Also, mark your calendars for their Annual Trailblazer Bingo being held on Saturday, February 22nd. Tickets are on sale now, make sure to take advantage of early bird pricing, adult and kids tickets available. Seats are limited, purchase today!
The JES PTA is also seeking donations, for prizes, from local businesses and organizations, and a crowd favorite is back, the grade level themed basket raffle!

We are over-joyed to announce that LCPS began accepting preschool applications for the 2025-2026 school year.
