Mr. Smith

Greetings Trailblazer Families!

I must say that I am ecstatic to join the family at Jouett Elementary this year as an Assistant Principal Intern. As a former Jouett alum, the class of 2000, I am extremely blessed to be back in the building and community where my educational foundation was constructed. For the last eight years, I have held various positions at Louisa County High School as well as Alternative Education Program, I'm proud to transition to the Elementary level to work with the future of tomorrow.

I double majored at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia in Special Education and History Education. During my time at Concord University, I lettered in varsity football. In May of 2020, I will graduate from James Madison University where I will receive my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. In the near future, I plan to pursue a doctoral degree in Education Leadership from the University of Virginia. I was raised in Louisa and understand how special this county is; literally, the best county in the state of Virginia. I look forward to helping our students discover their purpose as well as helping them to Be Legendary in all facets of life!

In the past, I have taught Earth Science, World History 1, served on the Safety Task Force Team, led the Our Brother’s Keeper mentorship program, and coached sports both in the school system and through local youth organizations. I love sports and understand how influential they are in developing leaders in our community. I am very passionate about teaching and learning and I look forward to building quality relationships with all of you.

Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone at 540.872.3931 extension 1175, email (, or by stopping by the school.
